In case anyone is unaware, we've had a rash of burglaries in the past month.
One assumption is that this not a seasoned burglar(s) -- they tend to steal only fishing rods and tackle boxes (someone who likes fishing or have an outlet to fence the goods?). They pass up other more valuable items.
These began on Short Reach and progressed to Long reach and Bora Bora and possibly beyond. The narrow geography might be a clue as to where the perpetrator(s) live or visit frequently. Burglaries are on weekday evenings between 11:00pm and 1:00am and the burglar(s) merely open garages or walk under houses looking for unsecured tackle (in one case they also ripped out a golf car's batteries - they may own an electric golf car).
It appears that one security camera picture is available and will be posted if of appropriate quality.
The theft is one issue but if this is young people as the limited targeted items might indicate, one fear is someone getting shot. It was close on one recent visit that triggered an alarm of an owner with a 45 caliber.
