I hear that. Living in under-heated homes is no fun.
Back in the Land of Opportunity, I lived in an apartment that had a peculiar heating system. It was basically a vent on the side of the stove. It would emit heat when you would turn the dial. MASSIVE HEAT. The kitchen would become tropical very quickly.
Thats not good. I mean, I want to be comfortable.
So while youre sweating in the kitchen, youre freezing your ass off in the other rooms. I recall many a time when I'd be huddled up in a blanket while surfing the internet.
And I wasnt trying to save money by turning the heat down. That shit was cranked up to the proverbial eleven. So while the kitchen was like Kenya the other rooms were more like northern Finland. The Lapland area, you know.
And in some mice and cockroach-infested place in shitty ass London, the heater didnt work in our room. More than that, the windows didnt close. So cold. And I was paying for that shit.
I chipped in with my asshole Polish roommate for a little heater but that dumbass broke it within a couple weeks. Didnt re-imburse me for my half of the heater, of course.
He also broke my voltage converter. Right in front of me. He was vaccuuming, bumed my voltage converter, sparks went up, and it ceased to operate. Didnt reimburse me for that either. Just said, "Oops. Well, at least the floor's clean now".
He also tripped over a wire and knocked my GBA down. Fortunately, it still worked because if it didnt he would not have re-imbursed me for that either.
He was probably the biggest asshole I ever met.
