Yeah, I hear that. Actually, I don't. I've been comfortable. And I'm just using this small radiator in the living room/kitchen/bedroom. I havent monkeys around with the central heating yet.
Gumtree then. I was writing for the blog, as you'll remember. I only submitted three articles and they only published two. They butchered my work and then asked for "nice" stories and thats when I quit.
Guess what? The blog is essentially dead now. It was never a hip, happening place but they still updated regularly in the vain hope that their dull-as-#### articles about second hand bikes, local cupcake bakeries, how great Gumtree is, and unfunny comic strips would generate some user interest.
Well, it didn't. So now they haven't updated a non-comic update since the 8th of October. They used to update every day. And the two comics they've put since 8/10 are unfunny, horribly-drawn crap.
Nobody cares. Nobody visits that boring ass blog. And this in spite of a big spam initiative.
Actually, I received an email on the 17th of September from them. They wanted eight ideas from me by the following Friday. They also wanted each of us in the writing team or whatever to take a portion of a Gumtree mailing list ("a few hundred people) and either call or email them begging them to contribute a (probably unpaid) story.
Yeah, that's what I do. As a freelance writer, I'm going to now do your sleazy spam marketing. For no pay, mind. Best of luck with that.
And as for eight ideas? How about I just say "go fist your own anus" eight times?
They also had an attachment. It was some Powerpoint thing. Well, I should probably do a screenshot. Its moderately funny. Mostly tragic, though.
What does that mean? Nothing. They just put a bunch of random office "buzz words". It doesnt mean a ####ing thing.
Maybe if they would have spent less time creating mindless Powerpoint things and more time into creating an interesting blog, it wouldnt be essentially dead now. And they had a ####ing fantastic writer on their team. A great writer, hillarious material, and a clever writing style.
They blew it. Totally blew it. Those are some seriously incompetent mother####ers over there. Real amateur hour. One of the dudes who worked on that blog also killed the forum by banning most everyone and now threatening to ban what few people remain on a regular basis. Very few posts on that forum anymore. Its a ####ing ghosttown (in forum-form).

Sara posted eight times during a two day period in mid August. She undoubtedly no longer goes to the forum.
But that fat South African moron is so incompetent that it never occured to him to look at posting history or even dates things were posted. Just immediately a ban threat. What a racist cock muncher. And shit at all things internet-related too (except for downloading gay porn...he's probably a pro at that).
So yeah, that's Gumtree and it's dead blog and the reasons for it. Gumtree's main site is shit now too. Has been for some time.
And just today, I'm working on a case where a dude put an ad on Gumtree for a laptop and a couple other dudes robbed him. Thats the state of the site now. Its full of scams, spam, dudes beating you over the head and taking your stuff, and a boring as hell blog that nobody visits and is no longer updated barring the occassional dull as #### comic. Glad I quit that shit.
