I feared going to this Waitrose because one often hears how its for rich folk. I dont think its much more expensive, though. Consider the following:
Doritos at Waitrose: 1.49 (2 for 2.50, actually but I wont include sale prices)
Tyrell's Gorumet Chips from Waitrose: 1.77
Pringles from Tescos: 1.50
Sensation from Tescos: 1.50
Basically the same.
Chili Con Carne from Waitrose: 2.09
Lasagna from Tescos: 1.59
Both are refigerated similar items. The lasagna is barely edible. So much cheese. Then they put more cheese on top of the cheese. Havent tried the chili, but Im sure its alright. So worth the extra 50p.
Pizza Express pizza from Waitrose: 4.99
Tesco brand pizza from Tesco: 2.47
That Tescos pizza was actually £2 because they were three for £6. But MAN, I find them very difficult to eat. Theyre just not good.
On the other hand, and I've said this before, those Pizza Express refigerated pizzas are the best refigerated or frozen pizzas that I ever had. They used to have them at the Tesco near my previous hovel.
So worth the extra money. Its also significantly larger than the Tesco pizza. I mean...it costs 2 and a half times as much as the Tesco ones. And no, of course its not two and a half times bigger. But it is quite a bit larger. And massively better in the flavor department.
I think its higher quality food in general at Waitrose. And really not that much expensive. Tesco sells a lot of total garbage. Their pasta salads, for example.
Anyway, yeah. I think I might switch to Waitrose. And it wasnt all dudes with top hats and three piece suits there, after all. I saw a lot of low class folk there. No class even. Take for example, the two Indian clowns who saved each other's spot in the queue. One continued shopping and then when her friend was at the front of the line, she said "oh, I'm with her so I get to go in".
How the #### does that work? Just because you know somebody in line doesnt give you the right to cut in front of everyone. But these mastadons didnt view things that way.
