I kept three chickens called Isa, Esme, and Elsa. Each laid an egg nearly every day. Unfortunately they were extremely noisy and would cluck like crazy at dawn, and I would often have to get up to let them out the coop (or frequently, simply stay up all night) just to keep them quiet. As it turned out I ended up giving them to a farmer who owned a huge plot of land and kept free-ranging chickens for laying eggs rather than for meat.
