I ordered a doner kebab and the guy even repeated back to me "doner kebab" but instead, I got a plate of lamb and some chips. Isnt a "doner kebab" that thing with a pita? Like a gyro but much less tasty.
So yeah, I wasnt happy. But...eh...not going to complain about it. And besides, the guy called me "sir".
This is something I've noticed when I'm coming to or from work. In my snazzy suit, you know. People call me "sir".
In the US, people who deal with the public pretty much all call all dudes "sir". Doesnt matter what youre wearing. If youre a customer and look like a dude, you're going to be refered to as "sir". Its just good business. Respect for the customer, you know?
But in this shit country with it's much higher elitism, you have to wear suits before anybody will call you "sir". Pure bullshit. Another example of the much more egalitarian society of the United States of America.
