Patrick Swayze died.
There seems to have been a bit of a Dirty Dancing revival among 'teh kidz' over the last couple of years, but my sister used to watch it constantly when it first came out on video circa 1988. I still know all the songs and a lot of the dialogue off by heart, and hearing them makes me quite nostalgic. So that's sad.
Also, Darren Sutherland, who won a bronze medal in boxing for Ireland at last years Olympics, was found hanged in his flat. He was only 27, had just turned pro, and had the pugilist world at his feet. So that's sad as well.
As are all the other tragic ends that will have befallen millions of non-famous people today as well.
What a day.
