There's a new person running the blog that I write for. That's good because the old guy was total crap.
This is some Asian girl now. But she wants me to write something with a "positive angle" because she doesn't want people to think that meeting people from the site is all negative.
Well, that's a load of bullshit. All of my experiences have been negative. It goes to show that the site is just pure consumerism. They just want to promote the damn website.
Now, some might say, "Well, what did you expect, Mr B? The blog is part of the website isn't it? Of course they don't want to publish negative things about the site".
I disagree with this thinking. They could use the blog to create a community. It could become a edgy place where hipsters go to talk about whatever. And then if these users happen to use the site so sell their bicycles or whatever, so much the better.
But not every god damn article has to be about how magnificent the site is. Nobody would be interested in such a place. And that's why the blog receives almost zero comments and presumably isn't terribly popular. It's not advertised much but I can understand why.
Imagine if Coca-Cola had a blog where every article was about the magnificence of Coca-Cola. How studies have shown that it's better than Pepsi and you'll get more girls if you drink it and whatever. It would the most boring, self-serving piece of shit in the universe.
People see right though this crap. Show me a single popular corporate blog. There are none. Nobody cares about what new products Coca-Cola are coming out with.
But the blog as a hip community would work. And the articles are still about the site. Very poor foresight.
I mean, lets look at some of the "thrilling" articles up there recently.
"5 simple ways to improve your Rentals ad"
Whoa. Be still my heart.
"Pimp your fridge: save money, save the earth"
This is just basically just a link to a site where somebody did some wacky crap to his refigerator.
"Top 5 Glasgow events"
The site is overwhelmingly London-based.
Bunch of other crap thats so boring I cant even take the time to copy and paste the titles.
I mean...well...I dont know. £20 for stupid short stories of women I met years ago doesn't seem too bad to be. But there's a lot of bullshit to put up with. The butchering of my posts and now this editorial instruction about being more "positive".
Well, I can write about the Japanese MILF, I guess. She was hot. There was also that short Korean girl with the big tits.
