My parents are going on holiday next week, with my sister, brother-in-law and niece. A fortnight in sunny Florida.
I told them they should holiday somewhere closer to home, because it would be cheaper, and far more environmentally friendly (planes chug out no end of CO2), but they were having none of it. I think the very suggestion offended their new found petit-bourgeous sensibilities (although they've both spent the vast majority of their lives being properly dirt poor, so it's understandable that now they're both earning a decent wage, they'd want to enjoy themselves with their grandkids a bit).
Anyway, it means I have the house to myself for two weeks. I'm seeing it as a perfect opportunity to get an ounce of hash in, and 'cane' loads of 'waxer buckets' for old times sake. I'll probably spend most of that time watching Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm DVDs in my underpants, and eating ice-cream out of the tub with my bare hands. And it'll remind me why being stoned 24/7 isn't the way to go at all. But it'll be fun and relaxing as well, and kind of like my own little mental holday without actually having to leave the home.
