1. Do you not feel that there is a Western cultural-political inheritance that differentiates us, and which makes it absolutely imperative that we hold onto our hegemonic role in global affairs?
Well, first you'll have to set out what you think this 'Western cultural-political inheritance' is.
And I suspect it'll be a load of stuff about 'equality' and 'democracy' and 'secularism', as though these are exclusively 'Western' concepts, and as though 'Western' states haven't spent centuries undermining equality and democracy, and propping up/supporting theocratic regimes, overseas.
I just think the world can't so easily be split up between good old 'Western values', and the bad old 'values of Islam', for example, and i'm suspicious of anyone who tries to do it. There's a definite supremacist bent to it, and it's so often used to justify oppression and violence.
And it's telling that you've linked to a video by a guy who's named himself after the first leader of the Ku Klux Klan - it really pisses me off when fascists try and use 'women's rights' as a stick to beat muslims with, as though they even care about them at all, and as though muslims don't, or can't, be in favour of gender equality (i've already proven that the vast majority of muslims in Britian are).
