Posted by Mr Wolf on September 4, 2004, 10:33 pm, in reply to "Roy Swinbourne - 50's" My Dad was a Wolves supporter, born in Hednesford he was a mate of Tommy Galley (older ex wolves player)and used to watch the Wolves from the 30's up until his death in the late 80's.. He used to talk about Roy Swinboure a lot (along with Messrs Mullen, Hancocks, Clamp, Slater, Wright etc). My Dad went to the Honved & Spartak games in the '50s (European Football at Molineux...remember that !!!!) He always referred to RS as "one of the finest forward's he'd ever seen"..."a natural goalscorer" and insisted that he would have gone on to even greater things if his playing career had not been cut short by injury (think he injured his knee jumping over a photographer behind the goal at Molineux and quit in something like 1957). Pretty sure Roy Swinbourne is still alive - if you contact the club they should be able to put you in touch with the 'Old Wolves' network.
Just a wild guess (your surname!!) but are you related ??
