True enough, but what player is going to choose to move to a club where the manager shifts the blame when thigs go wrong?
We've seen tonight (congrats Greece!) how important the manager is, he can't suddenly pass the buck when the results don't come in.
: But, if the player can look a fan straight in
: the eye and say I gave it my best. Then the
: fans arn't going to listen to the manager's
: excuses. They will blame the manager and not
: the players.
: If the player is just their to pick up
: oversized pay packets, then they can't
: complain when the boss blames them.

: You're not going to thank me for this, but
: I'm
: going to make a comparison yourselves and
: your neighbours (or at least between the
: situation you find yourselves in and the
: situation your neighbours were in twelve
: months ago): : When The Baggies fell out of
: the Prem they
: had spent virtually nothing and they'd had
: nine months of knowing they were going to go
: back down in a sort of 'enjoy it while we
: can' stylee. All that time Megson was saying
: realistic things like, "We can't really
: compete against the big boys," to the
: cameras.
: When you came out of the Prem you'd spent a
: not inconsiderable amount of cash on some
: players who took too long to get it together
: and you'd had nine months of
: 'will-we-or-won't-we'. All that time Jones
: was saying, "If only so-and-so had done
: such-and-such," to the cameras.
: The players who were available twelve months
: ago looked at Megson and saw a manager who
: had realistic expectations.
: The players available now look at Jones and
: see a bloke who will put the blame squarely
: on them if things go pear-shaped.
: I know which TEAM you'd rather play for, but
: take off your orange-coloured glasses for a
: moment and tell me which MANAGER you'd rather
: play for?
: Told you you wouldn't like it, but that's the
: way I see it.

: Where are all the Summer signings? I remember
: Jonesy saying that he wanted everything in
: place by the time the team reports back for
: Pre-season training - on MONDAY!
: All we've heard of so far is Duberry and a
: few other players who are more likely to go
: to Premiership clubs than 'Championship'
: clubs.
: Although it might not be to popular, I'd
: rather see some signings for older
: Premiership players (Sheringham, Parlour etc)
: who can guide the younger ones back into the
: Premiership. With the return of Ndah, Lecott
: and Murray, we have 3 'new' signings anyway.
: What does everyone else think?
