Posted by Storm on June 28, 2004, 10:05 am, in reply to "Re: Camara" Couldn't agree more - it's as if a 7 goals in 32 games ratio is good by a strikers standard. In fact, before the Southampton game, Camara had the worst Strike to goal ratio I think I've ever seen (something like 72 shots, 2 goals). So, to be quite frank, if someone comes along with a decent fee, let him go! He'll have to do more than he did last season to become African Footballer of the Year. Also, let's remember that we have Carl Cort and Ganea, both of who will be exceptional strikers in Divis.... The Championship. He has 2 years left on his contract, and we paid £1.5 million for him, so if someone (BOLTON) tables a bid for £3m then let him go! We can buy 2/3 decent Chanpionship quality who maybe could mature into Premiership quality. Seriously, we're in a great position we either get to keep a striker who will run rings around the 'Championship' or we get some money to buy a few new players. We can't lose!
Howdy all!

: Spot on, you could blame him for the
: relegation
: with all the chances he missed.
: So if he wants to be African Footballer Of
: The Year he wants to play well for the whole
: season, not just the end.

: If (and it is if) the reports of Camara
: saying
: that he 'doesn't see himself as a first
: division player' are true then let him go as
: I doubt his heart will be in it...
: He should, though, reflect on the fact that
: his perfromances were woeful for much of last
: season. So, Henri old son, in the words of
: the gifted people from god's country: Yam
: good...but yam ayn that good.
