Posted by Mr Wolf on June 24, 2004, 11:15 pm Though disappointed when the final whistle went this evening, I don't feel all that P'd off...even though a perfectly good goal was disallowed right at the end. At the end of the day the best team won. Apart from that cheat Ronaldo McDonaldo (and that twat of a ref) I thought the Portuguese were excellent. It did crystalise a view I've held for a few games though: - Rooney has been fantastic. - Erickson is tactically inept.....what the hell were we doing sitting so deep game after game. Tonight was Brazil all over again. I think he has some issues to resolve before the World Cup. Maybe even time for a change ? - Terry is overated and looked like a frightened rabbit for most of the tournament. - Scholes is too slow and way past his sell by date. - James is an average keeper to say the least. - This should be a wake up call to Beckham...time to decide whether he wants to be a fashion model or a world class footballer, he looked unfit and jaded. Good luck Portugal and the Czechs..it would be a travesty if France won it again.
I remember walking out of Wembley after the Euro '96 semi final knowing that the best team lost...not tonight though.
- We are defensively brittle..and have been since the start of the tournament.
