BL opts out of May Sweeps?

Havn't watch much BL this season, but was going to tune in for May to see how it might finish. Tuned in tonight to see nothing so went to their website. It says they will return for the "05-06 season" and last aired Mar 20. Is this a regular occurrence? Strange to not run into May. Anybody know what gives?
