Posted by zak on February 28, 2005, 6:58 pm, in reply to "Re: More articles" Jimmy Berlutti (Michael Badalucco) suffers an odd stroke while having dinner at a very posh Beverly Hills restaurant with his wife (played by Camryn Manheim). Seems the devious culinary skills and heretofore undetectable poison of chef Eugene Young (Steve Harris) has caused an "appetizer" to bring "Big Berluti" down in hopes of bringing bad press to the restaurant, whose owner Eugene hates. At the emergency ward, ex-partners Bobby and Lindsay Dole (Dylan McDermott & Kelli Williams) are thrust into a life saving operation. Alan Shore (James Spader) passes the gas and wise cracks all the way from behind his surgical mask. When he first sees Berlutti prone on the girney unconscious, Shore understatedly comments "Don't I know you from somewhere? Only I seem to recall you as much more talkative before." Rebecca Washington (Lisa Gay-Hamilton) plays the junior nurse to crotchety Catherine Piper (Betty White) who even at 82 years of age exudes sexual ennuendo, brushing against the "healing hands" of Bobby with every pass of the scalpel, much to the dismay of Lindsay and glee of the deviant Shore. With time running out the team diagnoses the reason for their patients stroke and are about to cut, stitch and save! At the crucial moment controversial hospital administrator Denny Crane (William Shatner) bolts in to the surgical theatre to announce "Stop the procedure. This man's Blue Cross has expired. Everyone out and back to rounds. I'll close. Denny Crane!" Fully discouraged by the politics of the medical industry, the entire team move from LA to Boston, to take a shot at practicing Law. They start a small firm who take on clients no else dare touch, at a run-down old office in Beantown.
