Having been the driver and passenger both in such a mode of transport, where 4 or 6 or even 8 officers are being moved all over the city and countryside in a van with 2 seatbelts, it is really just sickening. |
You always have that one officer willing, or desperate, enough to sit on the floor in between the front seats. But those that end up, by luck or manners, riding in the cages....
God forbid there is even a accident that involves any of the van doors accessing the cages, or the driver and front passengers becoming incapacitated. And a fire, fuel leak, rollover, or being pitched into a body of water.
I wouldn't want a convict to die in such a manner, by default. But, God save the officers put in such a spot because the Agency can't keep the units in vans, and the ones we do get they let the CO II's drive at night, and they come back with the headliner all ripped out, and a mysterious dent nobody will claim.
