TDCJ needs to send their Wardens back to training, and while they're there have their eyes checked. Hello I am wearing Grey and not white so quit yelling and cursing me. The warden we have wants to decorate and place fake flowers around the unit as if were going to a wedding. It's sad to know that the cameras added to the unit are their to watch us and not the inmates on the inside, and outside the electric fence doesn't even work.

I agree with you cbills at our unit we are not allowed to sit and eat at the same table as rank. Sometimes I feel like putting on inmates clothing just because I know that they do not get harassed the way that Co's do.

With the economy picking up I am looking forward to a new and better job. TDCJ is going to loose lots of bosses very soon. The reason for me is not so much the money, but rather the way I am treated. Huntsville get your head out of your a##, and look at all these crooked majors and wardens.

Amen! It happens every time, a reoccuring merry go round. I'm settling in for the long haul, can't afford to quit cuz I've got too much time and sweat and blood and tears invested in this place.

TDCJ requested a 20% raise for CO's It was the Legislature that voted it down and gave the 7% for two years. Some folks need to get smart and realize who is to blame. TDCJ does not equal the Legislature.

I agree, as this is exactly what I have been saying and although I would not mind making what I made in 2008 49,340 C.O.5 it can at a high price in a lot of O.T. This is exactly what the State of Texas is getting for holding back C.O. pay back!

This is SO TRUE...I have many friends who worked in the oil fields making good money that had to come back....when I talk with them they tell me that it has gotten worse and they can't wait until the jobs come back so they can leave...I know that some of you will say if you don't like leave (Your answer to everything)...Overtime will come back and things will be just great....Be safe out there and watch your backs...

How soon the government forgets the shortage. When we have "All kinds of folks" looking for a job then the state can sit back and think the worse is behind us. Quality people are a hell of a lot harder to find than Quanity people!! Those folks just trying to get their "old lady or old man" off their back to get the rent paid are a hell of a lot different than the dedicated professionals that I work with. Prime example of this was the last time I went to Gatesville for training. There were new boots just about to finish Pre-service and I made the mistake of asking one of them which unit he was going to. He was quick to tell me that he wasn't going to a unit, he was here to make a car payment then quit and hope the oilfield picked back up. Good luck with that type of mentality.
