Usually the officers asking this are the ones who are the supervisors BIGGEST problem (John Wayne, write that case for the offender having a water bottle on his table while he's out of the cell) or the ones who have been there forever and have decided that they don't have to do crap to earn their money. Ya know, if you'd just worry about what YOU can control, you'd be much, much more happy.

Not true. I'm neither a problem nor an oldie but goldie, and yes on our unit there are Rank that cater to the offenders, and yes they need to do more write-ups on the bad officers. Big issue at every unit I'm sure. I wonder all the time why they don't spend a little more time weeding out the bad meat and curtailing the actions of "offenders" instead of catering.
There is a difference between keeping them calm and cosseting them.

I agree looks if this keeps going we will all be in trouble...Its very hard when one tries to run by the book..when others let the offenders do what they want thats when the offenders turn on you....is it going to take a serious injury to a CO for something to be done...problem is to much favortisium and lord forbid someone try to talk to someone about one of these CO's one tries to fix the problem and all you get is your head chewed off..Maybe the new waeden can see whats going on and stop it lord help us.
