overtime

so much for NO overtime. we are still working overtime on a daily basis here at DL.

I work in agriculure. Ag. My spelling aint great but my work is. I keep there crappy equipment runing and they took my over time away. I hate thes new directors and wish they fuk up and get fired. I will keep doin my job the best I can and screw them for not paying me right

You don't have to rely on overtime if you can sell a cell phone or two a month. Just depends on how many phones you can stick up your butt at one time. Here's a helpful hint. If you put them in the colon sideways you get get more in at a single time. Galvatrash taught me that trick.

What? A Sgt told my entire class last week in inservice that the agency was less than a hundred officers short? If this is true why overtime? I smell b.s.

I don't know where Huntsville could get that figure. All units except a few are under staffed. There are units in west texas that are 100+ officers short just on that one unit. Stiles is 40 short and growing shorter daily. Gist is growing short by leaps and bounds. The agency being just 100 officers short is just Huntsville with more propaganda. The big whigs go to the "Huntsville" Unit and Goree and see staff and figure looks good to them and then go back and say look how good it has gotten since I took over here it is good to be Brad. Then there is another reason for overtime, how bout the fine young individuals that we have to work with. I love these ethicalm, moral, intelligent... well I can't think of any other lies, that call in every 2 or 3 out of a set of fours. People with 80 months of service with 8 hours of time. You know the ones who have never filled out a Pers-24, if you don't know what that is go read another message this one is about you, hwoever are never losing time cause they have none. This is what caused the most overtime. Hope i answered your question and didn't sound to cynical.

I worked a little OT the other day then was sent home early the next day so I would not get any OT. Seems they are robbing Peter, to work Paul.

It is complete b.s. What makes it worse is the people that do not have to work it do not care. If you can't work it one day they want to write you up for refusing. Six twelve hours days for the last four years. Come on.. They wonder why people keep quitting .IT ISNT WORTH IT. So someone needs to do something.

So, since you hate it so much, you turning that extra pay in to a charity? Bet not!! Bet you run right on out and spend it. Be lucky your getting paid for the OT you work. It sucks to work it an not get paid for it !! Not even time credit.

I'm still confused as to how it's legal to work a person 2 hours over today, but make them take off 2 hours early tomorrow and call it 8 hrs today & 8 hrs tomorrow - because there is NO OVER TIME!!! WTF? Seriously, this can't be legal. What happened to when you worked over time and it just when on the books under OT - you could burn it when you needed it or get paid when it reached a certain level? Also the fully staffed thing - what a joke! They went around and cut our staffing plan down and wha-la...fully staffed! Yep, you're smelling bullshit!! We don't have a field force now-a-days, they are utility everyday. It's just crazy-ness!! They don't wanna pay cuz there is no money. It's all a cluster f*** if you ask me, to sort it out and fix the system would be a nightmare! I'm afraid the days of the gray-wave are over....I don't think we will ever be working with the numbers we used to. It's sad, really. We have an enormous responsibility and they just keep cutting us back to the point that people are gonna get hurt. It's pathetic and it sucks!

It's called falsification of State documents. There still wouldn't be OT if they put 10 and 6 but at least that would reflect the truth.

I'm with you on this one.. I too am trying to figure out how this is legally done,
Do the labor laws not apply for state workers?
would really like to know how this is being done with out breaking a law

Look up the US Department of Labor website and it will explain the laws on overtime to you, how time accumulates for the WEEK, not per day, and the exemptions for government offices and jobs. It will explain everything to you.
