I am outraged by Obama's reaction to the news of this horrible tragedy on Fort Hood. I was watching the news Live on tv when he took the podium for the very first time following the tragedy. What I expected was a speech of sympathy and concern for the situation that had just erupted here in Texas, and being his very first speech directed towards it, it should have been just that. Instead, what was heard for the first almost 2 minutes of the speech was absolutely shocking. He went on to formally congratulate/recognize some guy for some type of achievement (im not sure exactly who or what but it had nothing to do with Ft Hood at all) and at one point there was clapping in the audience and Obama's voice almost seemed to crack a slight laugh of happiness. When the local news reporter said they would then cut to the live presidential speech in regards to Ft Hood, I felt a bit confused as to which speech he was really taking the podium for, as the first topic was indeed NOT about Ft Hood. Moments later, he finally decides to direct concern and thought towards our situation here. I was in shock. As president, shouldn't he have taken the situation to immediate regard and immediately cut to the the unfolding issue before us? If I didnt like him before, I definitely dont think much better of him now. If you missed the speech, here is the link, listen for yourself and pay close attention to the first almost 2 minutes of it.... any comments?
