Question about Assault

A couple of weeks ago here at the Sanchez unit a Officer from 3rd shift got pushed in the chest or shoved by a JC for those of you who do not know State Jails all a JC is Jail Confinee. I heard this Officer hit his head and wrote a assault case. The chump got locked up in Seg. I want to know now what?? I heard this Officer wrote him a case and a got locked up in Seg for about 2 weeks and this was his second day out and the Officers Monday when the inmate came up and assaulted him. I would like to know since I work at this unit How do you know if he is getting more time??
