As an-ex-warden-author. . .I can tell you that trying to tell the general public {a college class} about the internal workings of the TDCJ {after the fact} is no easy task. If you're honest . . . you leave yourself open for all kinds of criticism . . . some won't believe you because they can't rationalize the inner working of the environment been there. . .some will try to second guess your actions based on some mythical standard they got out of a text book {written by some liberal hack} . . .
So yeah, I sympathize with Willett. . .he was an excellent Warden, an honorable man and he does a good job at the museum. My advice to him would be to either drastically restrict his future remarks or stay off the lecture circuit . . . They very little money in it. . .and the fame / notoriety is not something any rational person would seek.
