Locating Wire!!!
Posted by Doug Allen on 7/2/2005, 12:05 pm I have been ableto locate a 20 pound roll of 20awg. magnetic wire. From one source. I believe, wire in the 22 to 26awg. would be a better solution. I see on Bert's site, there transfomer manufacturers. Any leads areappreciated. Doug Allen

Hello Doug, Your best bet is to look in the Yellow Pages for motor rebuilders, recycling centers, or electrical wire suppliers. This size of magnet wire is usually listed on eBay quite often as well - search eBay for "magnet wire". For Tesla Coil use you want to use "heavy" build (2 layers of film insulation). Good luck and best regards, Bert

Re: Locating Wire!!!
Posted by Bert Hickman on 7/5/2005, 5:30 pm, in reply to "Re: Locating Wire!!!" I go through a fair amount of larger diameter magnet wire doing coin shrinking. I've had good success using a local vendor, Fay Electric Wire Corp at: Another source is Express Wire Service. Prices are about the same as Fay Wire and you can get small quantities quickly. Their website is at: Another great source of magnet wire with quick turnaround is BAE Wire in Sarasota, FL. They sell 10 pound spools and even smaller rewound spools for very reasonable prices. Thier web site is at: Hope this helps! Bert --Previous Message--

Re: Locating Wire!!!
Posted by Bert Hickman on 7/6/2005, 7:19 pm, in reply to "Re: Locating Wire!!!" The Message Board is actually hosted by Boardhost.com and is located on a URL outside of my actual web site. The reason why you saw Fastclick spyware was that the board was previously using Boardhost's free hosting option which included pop-up ads. However, I was not aware that Boardhost was also using click monitoring/spyware SW. Now that I know, I've switched to the paid version of Boardhost. You should no longer see either pop-up ads OR any evidence of spyware. If so, please let me know... :^) Thanks and best regards, Bert --Previous Message--
