Mario, Excellent - I'm glad to hear you got the system running now! If you used 3-4 mil LDPE in your homemade caps and the sheets are completely immersed in mineral oil, you'll probably be OK - only time will tell. If they do eventually fail, you may want to use an MMC the next time and save the oil mess. I used a pair or rolled caps housed in trashcans for 5 years in a 15/120 system. I had absolutely no problems, but they were HUGE compared to the pair of 45 kV Maxwell caps that replaced them. Best regards and safe coiling to you, -- Bert --
: Hey Bert, I just wanted to say thanks for the info and advice. I now
: have the pole pig working using two 500 foot rolls of wire as the
: ballast. Even better than the jacobs ladder though is that i connected
: it to my Tesla coil and it is now throwing about four feet of thick
: white hot streamers. It was powered by two nst's previously and maybe
: had about two feet of arc. This thing is so loud. I am just wondering
: if my caps are going to last. They are rolled ones that I made myself
: and if I remember correctly had 30 sheets of plastic. Anyways thanks
: again. Mario
