I have a 10kva pole transformer that I am trying to use to make a jacobs ladder. I have it wired in reverse with the 220volt side of the arc welder in series with the LV windings of the transformer. The LV secondary of the ballast is short circuited and I have the current set down low. The problem I am having is that when I turn it on , I get a arc started like it should and then it just throws the breaker. Anyone know what I am doing wrong here? I am not sure as to where the ground should be connected at the transformer. The breaker is a fifty amp. Thanks Mario
