Posted by Bert Hickman Mario, The primary (220 volt) side of the arc welder is connected in series with the LV winding of the distribution transformer. The LV secondary of the welder is then short-circuited, and the welder current setting adjusted for the desired output power level. Be very careful - you are working with instant death here!
