Yep, we don't have any snowploughs over here! People seem to think the only way to handle snow is to put rock salt on it and they're running our of that. Teddy I can't believe the Tube was closed. It's mostly under the freaking ground and it's HOT down there! What possible excuse can they have? Still, at least you got to have a day off.
I had to laugh at some politician on breakfast news the other day, giving the usual spiel about how we're just not used to snow in this country, etc. That spiel comes out every year and wouldn't be worth remembering if he hadn't then gone on to say:
"Places like Vancouver and Paris couldn't cope with this much snow either."
I just about spat my toast out! Vancouver may be on the left coast but they can handle snow when it does come! And Paris got some of the same snow that we had and kept right on going last week!
Bad weather happens everywhere. It's only the British who can't cope with it.
