I too am having this same problem! I have a Silver Reed SK280 and I purchased a used (but looked new and seems to be in great condition too) lace carriage.
I've have tried to knit some scarves with the lace carriage to become familiar with it but I was wondering why it will knit in the pattern for many rows and then suddenly it will stop transferring stitches?
I purchased my sk280 brand new and I haven't even had it for a year yet, but I do use it quite often, multiple times a week, for hours a day! Do you think that I too just need a new sponge bar in order for the lace carriage to work properly?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
