I was educated in a girl's school where we were challenged to evaluate information that was media dispensed. From the beginning we were made aware of familial prejudices and differences in cultural values. This was a novel approach in the fifties but really served to send us out with a sense of integrity in our dealings with others. Investigate and evaluate the news considering the source then decide for yourself
Today media "news" ala many networks is just as was described in the past as "pablum for the masses". There is no straight story line! Skew wins!...and the flock is supposed to follow. Not many I suspect read the president's speech before it was aired. However it was tweaked to all by "Skundits" (skewed pundits) and folks followed without finding out for themselves. Likewise the Health Reform information has been available online for about one month. It is handy to have a search bar available at the beginning of the 1017 pages to pull up any item that has been bantered about.....drug reimbursements....pulling the "plug on gramma"...etc. It needs to be looked at and questioned/discussed with our elected officials.
Wow how did I get started on this? Maybe we all need a "time out" in this country and think it all through with respect for our families..our friends...our fellow countrymen... and most of all our president. It is really time to work together again before we are so badly torn apart by biased self-indulgent media sources that we forget how to work together. It almost seems that some concerted effort is out there to fragment our unity in moving forward toward good health care for all.
There..... now I feel better

For those who might be late comers to this board, Dory was a poster who we will remember as one who gave of herself so others survivors might smile. She always kept this board moving with her inspirational poems, jokes and riddles. Most will give Dory credit for energizing this board. She was an inspiration to everyone on this board. In that spirit, let us
continue to post in Dory’s memory so she might smile down on us and give us the same inspiration. Therefore, we have named the board, Dory's Board, in her memory. 11/11/01 (Dory was the first to call attention to the significance of 9/11, re: WTC tragedy, i.e. 911 for emergency). Let me be the first to note all the ones in the above date, indicating she was No. 1 on our board.
