Zoe is not doing well. All chemotherapy has been stopped as they felt that it was not being successful and since she has been on chemo for many years, they felt it was time to stop. Zoe was not happy about that. She was still willing to keep up the good fight but the chemo was affecting her memory and more.
She is in a progressive care facility as Kay is unable to take care of her. She visits her every day.
The doctors feel that she may have 3-6 months although they are not sure it is that long.
Zoe is sleeping most of the time and hospice is covering her pain control. She is resting comfortably.
Zoe and Kay are my friends and I am heartbroken. Kay asked me to let you all know and I will be the resource for this sight.
Please keep her and Kay in your prayers. They both need all the support visible and invisible they can get. Kay asks that you pray that she rests and that her final days on this earth are easy.
I first met Zoe on this site, when the chat room was active. She supported and gave me so much while I was going through my treatment for breast cancer. We became friends, met up in DC for a long weekend, along with Terry Gilbert another member of this site. We had a wonderful time.Zoe has an incredible sense of humor and she kept us laughing for the weekend.
I attended her and Kay's wedding. It was an event i am glad I did not miss. Kay and Zoe compliment each other well and their bond is so strong.
She has helped many with her knowledge, compassion and humor and for all of you who met her here, consider yourself blessed.
I promise to keep you posted.
