I am at 8 years for breast cancer and 7 for colon cancer. One of my sisters is at 9 years for breast cancer and my oldest sister is at 25 years for ovarian cancer and just finished treatment for breast cancer at the end of May.
As you can tell - we have lots to celebrate - so we go out to dinner together every year on the anniversaries to celebrate our boobie day, to toast my sisters ovaries and to raise a glass and thank God for giving us each other to support and celebrate.
I don't know that its the size of the celebration that matters to us - sometimes we have nieces/daughters/ friends with us - some years its just the three of us - what matters is that we have been there for each other thru treatments and every year as we toast, a tear comes to our eyes and we are thankful for the strength they had to help us thru.
I'm sure you will find a good way to celebrate that becomes meaningful for you. Congratulations again..
