Radiation + update

have 2 more rads to go and thought it was time for an update. Started out not being able to put any weight on my right leg and had to use the darn wheelchair to get around. Today, using my walker, I went 50 feet down the hallway to the rads room with pain only up to 4 in right hip. The pain level had been an 8 just sitting when I started the radiation. That seems very good since my right pelvis is about 80% gone - meaning the bone has been eaten away and the hip joint no longer meets with any bone deep inside. There was a giant tumor actively growing in the right hip and it was displacing the fracture of the socket in the hip. We must have shrunk up that tumor and it isn't pushing on the fracture any longer. The radiologist offered to get another CT scan to check out what was happening but I declined. I already glow in the dark from all the radiation and scans I have already done. I don't really care what is happening in that hip. All I care about is the pain is gone and I can walk again. The left pelvis is better - it is about 60% gone and the nerves are damaged enough that it doesn't hurt to stand or walk on it. So I think I will skip doing rads on that hip and just let the tumor there be alone - at least until it starts to interfere with walking. Thursday, after the last rads tx I am treating us to dinner at Red Lobster and then Friday friends are gathering to have a fire pit ceremony where we burn the damn wheelchair !!!! Can't wait !!!! take GOoD care
