Generally if bc comes back after a mastectomy, it comes back somewhere else in the body. If it's caught early and the cancer is contained in the breast before the surgery, there's a really good chance you won't see it again. That's why so many people-stars are removing both breast with stage 0-1 cancer. Nothing is impossible, but getting rid of that breast tissue before it gets out of control is a great way to reduce risk. Especially if the other factors are in place.
