Mine aren't cold and I'm also not numb. I have feeling in my skin but no sensation. Someone mentioned infections. That's is very common and I was really concerned about that. I didn't have any of those issues. My plastic surgeon was very careful (not that others aren't)..but I started taking anti-biotics a couple of days before the surgery and after. I only stayed in the hospital for two days...I think. Hospitals are where lots of infections come from. I was instructed not to move my arm at all or very little for 3 straight weeks....even if I felt like it. The norm on this site is to start mobile exercising immediately. My doctor says you can't properly heal like that and advised otherwise. I was instructed to begin the mobile exercising after the drains were out and I was no longer bleeding. That may or may not make the difference, I don't know. But other than the normal discomfort, it was quite smooth.
One thing to remember going through this process is that every story is different. Don't be afraid of the stories you hear from others. That just may not be your story.
