Alvita is 100% correct except my implants are kind of cold. I had a bilateral mastectomy March 2012 with implants. I chose mastectomy verses lumpectomy because I did not want radiation and also because every mammogram I had for several consecutive years required a biopsy. I have a very high incidence of cancer in my family too. Two of my brothers have already died from cancer. The only thing I never thought of and was not informed of is that my chest is now and will probably be forever numb. Now that is a small price to pay for surviving cancer but it sometimes bothers me. I am also sometimes concerned that I will have a recurrence behind the implants. As Alvita stated, this is a very personal decision. I know you will make the right decision for yourself.
