Was there a steroid in the chemo. I always had trouble sleeping for several days after chemo.
Here is what has helped me lately. I've taken Natural Calm for quite some time. It's basically powdered Magnesium, which you may already know does help with sleep (sometimes...). Anyway, Whole Foods has it and most health food stores. It comes in several flavors, and usually you can get it in little packets so you can try the different flavors. I mix a nice teaspoon in a coffee cup of hot water and drink it about 45 minutes before bed. Magnesium is used by 300 different enzymes in the body, and it's nearly been farmed out of the soil (or so I'm told). That is the main reason I take it. It's also a great laxative, so you need to be careful how much is put into the cup!!! I also take a melatonin - the kind that's put under the tongue. I'm finding these really are working quite well.
I've not found a doc who will prescribe a sleeping pill, and now studies are showing anything with benedryl has been shown to cause dementia! That's all I need!
HUGS and sweet dreams. Continued prayers.
