so sorry you are going through this stressful situation...I agree you need to get some answers so you know what you are dealing with...I tried to look up Gata3 and it is confusing but sounds like it is a gene that can be seen in some breast cancers that are hormone negative...but doesn't say it is absolutely an indication it is BC????...I see why the doctor is confused if they aren't up on gene development...if you were my sister I'd say:
1) have the test repeated to be sure or have your specimen sent to a genetic lab for testing
2) do get a second opinion from a surgeon...whether it's cancer or not, getting it taken out might reduce your stress level
3) be reassured what ever it is, it probably can be treated...this Gata3 marker might be an early indicator which success is better with early detection
stay positive, be aggressive in getting answers from the doctors, and demand something be done. Sitting around guessing will only increase your stress level. You can do this.
