OK. I am going to be my cynical self in responding to this. I believe regardless of what doctors, the American Cancer Society, or any statistics say, the insurance companies call the shots. I am sick of CEOs who rake in more money than I can imagine, making decisions, certainly not based on statistics but on the almighty dollar.
The other day, I saw my PCP because I was having pain in my butt cheek (no typo here). He took an x-ray and said he thinks I pulled a muscle, but an MRI would tell him more. Sometimes I think he is so cautious because of my breast cancer history. However, he said my insurance, (I have an excellent plan), may not cover all of it if the results come back a pulled muscle. So now I take Advil and live with a pain in the butt.
