I am on the same med routine with my new recurrence. Ibrance (Palbociclib) is a CDK4/6 inhibitor, and this seems to gives me no side-effects that I can discern. Do you do 21 days on and 7 days off routine with these pills? The shots (Fulvestrant - aka Faslodex) is an estrogen blocker and the shots, for me, are very painful. It think the discomfort is from the volume of each shot and the fact that it is very thick liquid. The nurses seem to struggle with giving the injections. They have to push very hard to make the fluid leave the syringe. The med make me have flu-like aches for about 4 days afterwards but then nothing else seems to bother me. Of all the chemo routines I have done (up to 5 now) this one has been the most tolerable. This drug combo, newly out of stage 3 clinical trials, if best when given together. Both are for post-menopausal, Her2 negative, ER+ breast cancer.
I get a repeat PET scan next week to see the progress this chemo is making. Hope we both have good results with this chemo.
Have bone mets can be uncomfortable but treatable and isn't a death sentence. This site is fairly good at leading you to resources for bone mets:
http://bcresourcedirectory.org/directory/03-advanced_breast_cancer.htm I have lung nodules that aren't large enough to biopsy yet - hope they never get that big! I've had bone mets since 2002 but this is the first time I have any suggested mets to soft tissue or organ. Let's prayer for both of us. Hang in there sister. We can do this!!!
