Thanks. This is a breast surgeon, one of the top ranked in the state. I was asked because I could arrange an appt with a plastic surgeon at the same time. The concern is a lymph node that is deep and requires a surgeon. It is recommended that it be removed , not just biopsied. The nurse who called asked if I had thought about what kind of surgery I'd prefer. I responded that I had assumed that since all biopsied material had come back positive, I would probably require one. I don't know whether to call it a tumor since no one has yet felt it. It is described as "fairly large" but no one has given me a measurement, yet. The only personnel that I have seen so far have not been MDs. I sent all my labs and pathology reports and this doctor has them. I think no one wants to say anything definitive because they are not MDs. I am traveling close to 50 miles to see this surgeon so that is a factor that we all are mindful of. Also one of my requirements was I wanted a surgeon with BREASTS. I am thankful for your input and please know that I will question whatever plan is suggested. Is This My Best Option? If this was you, your mother, your sister, what would you recommend? My husband will be with me tomorrow, 2 brains are better than one. Again thanks for your concern, your sharing and advice.
