Be mindful of who you allow in your space, especially during this time. You need people who will help you laugh. After my surgery, my cousins filled my hospital room and we laughed at everything. My sister didn't come to the hospital because this was very hard on her. In fact, I played a terrible joke on her during my stay. She called the hospital and when my husband gave me the phone, I pretended I could barely speak and she got so sad. Then I spoke strongly and laughed (definitely under the influence of pain meds)..she laughed and we changed the tone of her spirit.
I said all of that to say, protect your space and fill it with people who will help you see the up side and not help you dwell on the down side of the process.
Just thinking randomly tonight and wanted to pass that along.
