I know I couldn't focus on anything except the unknown when I was first diagnosed. I started having some really bad pains in my chest which made me think that my cancer had spread. I'm sure my doctor was tired of all the calls from me. I never even thought of it being anxiety until I called my family doctor and told her the symptoms I was having. She knew right away what it was and sent in a prescription for some anxiety medication. This was a huge help for me. After a few days of taking it the pain in my chest was gone. Since then I have only had to take it a few times. I know a lot of people frown on medication to treat anxiety, but sometimes we just need it.
