Hi MaryAda, if you are having brachytherapy radiation, the area with the balloon is sensitive for the entire week, but you can't feel the radiation going in at all. (at least that was my experience) Just a bit of a tug at the entrance to the balloon. Ask the nurses if there is anything you can do to make it more comfortable, I wore very loose fitting clothes and no bra for that part of treatment. Also, they had be put a pillow on the side with the balloon, so I would not roll over on it in the middle of the night, it sort of supported me in one position. The brachytherapy is very doable and you end of receiving less radiation than you would if you had traditional long term radiation, so that is a good thing.
