All of your feelings are very common, especially with being newly diagnosed. Did you ask the nurse what she meant? If not, please call back and have your question answered. It is crucial that you take control of your health. Sometimes those in the medical profession think we already know. I wish there was more training to show them how to explain all of this to us!
A lumpectomy truly is considered minor surgery, even so, everyone should have a living will and power of attorney, no matter if they are having surgery or not.
Drink lots of water the day of labs. I hate to tell you, but you'll be getting used to it. Lots of labs. Most of these people do it so much that I hardly felt a thing.
