EVERYONE should have a will and power of attorney in place...no matter the reason or your age...you never know if you'll get seriously/fatally injured in just a car accident, so you are wise to have it put in place before any medical procedure...good for you !
I am a nurse who used to draw blood on a lot of people who are "hard sticks"...what usually worked is for a person to drink 64 oz of fluid 1 hour before the stick...and DO NOT pee!...this sudden increase in fluid volume can make your veins more prominent and easier to locate
A mild tranquilizer may help you through this stressful time, so you may want to make that request...take a deep breath..most people do fine after their surgeries...once you're done, it will be behind you
