I had an early AM surgery and was home before lunch time and made and served lunch. The area was a little tender but i can't remember any pain. I kept waiting for the major pain to begin but it never happened. I used the small ice pack they sent home with me that fit inside the bra (using the term loosely because as a large chested woman I never could wear that as a bra) that they put on after the surgery. I took it easy for a few days but I was still able to function well. Note-- my children were grown so I didn't have any major responsibilities. Having the flu was way worse than a lumpectomy and removal of nodes. Good luck to you and I will keep you in my prayers.
