sorry to hear you are having issues with nausea..when I was going to start chemo, my biggest fear was nausea/vomiting because I hate those sensations, even when I have the flu...but luckily, I never had ONE episode of either thanks to the meds I got...I can't believe you made a request for Aloxi and they said "not needed"...obviously, you do otherwise you wouldn't be asking for it...you need to INSIST on it...today with all the good drugs no one should be having severe nausea...initially, I received Aloxi thru my IV with the chemo drugs and it worked great...unfortunately, after several treatments my insurance company stated they would not pay for the Aloxi and recommended Zofran intravenously instead...it worked just as well and the few times I felt "queasey", oral Zofran helped...I wonder if insurance reimbursement is the real reason your doc made that statement to you...also Ginger-root is an EXCELLENT natural anti-nausea remedy...I drank lots of gingerale and someone told me if you just chew on a piece of ginger-root, it can help...there are some good anti-nausea OTC meds out there...believe it or not, sometimes those work better than the prescription meds...ask your local pharmacists what they recommend...but ALWAYS check with your oncologist before taking any supplements or OTC meds as some of these can alter the effectiveness of your chemo drugs
good luck with a solution!
