I went to MD Anderson for my treatment plan and it was different than the one I was given from my oncologist where I live. My doc at MD Anderson said I was given their second best treatment plan. He was certain I didn't want to leave with their second best, but with their very best treatment plan, and he was correct. Treatment plans vary according to several different factors. If you google MD Anderson, breast cancer, flow chart, there is a PDFs that will come up that may be of some help (about the 3rd or 4th link down). It outlines what these factors are, and the treatment plans for each. This is for Invasive breast cancer. The stage, tumor size, and lymph node involvement are among the factors. I am NOT a doctor, so I'm certainly NOT suggesting your dr is wrong by any means. However, I would definitely get a second or even a third opinion. And you may find this flow chart to be helpful. I started chemo two years ago on Jan 21. It is still very fresh and I still have difficulties. I can relate to the feelings and emotions you are and will have, as the others here are able to do also. You came to the right place. Prayers for you throughout your journey. Positive thoughts, and positive attitude will help you greatly. When in doubt, ALWAYS ask questions.
