Hi Polly! Glad you found the site. Loads of support here! You're really blessed that your cancer was found so early. Stage 1B is really early. I'm not a doctor but your treatment is standard because you are triple positive...meaning that you are positive for estrogen, progesterone and HER2. HER2 is an aggressive cancer that's treated with 1 year of herceptin. From what I understand Herceptin has been a major contributor to the success of treating HER2 positive breast cancer. I was triple negative so I didn't take herceptin but I met women taking while I was going through treatment. They were all able to go through their lives normally. I took Taxol and it wasn't bad either. The toughest part will be the AC BUT that's doable too. Like I said earlier, the blessing is they caught it early and once you go through the process, you are going to be fine!
This is a really great site for questions and support! Visit often, every one is here to help!
Blessings to you!
Also, Google Lauren Berman's story. She was HER2 positive and was treated with herceptin.
